scenario022
This patient fulfills the criteria for non-operative management of penetrating neck injury.
|
There is no active haemorrhage or expanding haematoma. There are no signs of an evolving stroke. A lateral soft-tissue neck film will identify any prevertebral air suggestive of an oesophageal injury. Without symptoms or signs of oesophageal or tracheal injury, the patient can be managed by close observation of haemodynamics and neruology in a critical care area. |
