A 22 year old motorcyclist loses control of his bike at high speed and hits an on-coming car head-on.

Primary Survey

Airway: Patent

Breathing:
Bilateral, equal air entry. No obvious external chest injuries. O2sats 98% on 100% oxygen.

Circulation:
Pulse 130/min, BP 60/40.
No obvious external haemorrhage.
Abdomen very distended.Pelvic X-ray as shown.

FAST ultrasound shows no free intraperitoneal blood and a large retroperitoneal haematoma.

Dysfunction:
GCS 14(E4V4M6) . Pupils equal & reactive.

A sheet is wrapped around the pelvis for temporary stabilization
