There is no tracheal deviation and apart from the bruising over the left chest you see no other external signs of trauma. Breathing is very shallow. There is no crepitus or any other indication of rib fractures on palpating the chest and percussion is equal on both sides.
Listening to the chest the right sounds clear but the left has widespread coarse crackles.
