Somewhat concerned about answering a 'Drama Queen' call at all, you make your way to the resuscitation room, to find the department's official Drama Queen already there. Julian, one of the department's senior nurses and self-styled trauma junky is already working himself up into one of his 'states'. 'Oh my God doc - thank God you're here - it's just awful.'

'What's going on Julian?' - 'I've just got this horrible paper cut from that nasty trauma manual and it's soo painful and it's bleeding - a bit.'

'Julian...'

Oh yes and the paramedics are bringing in a year old boy, ejected from the back seat of a car after a 50 mile-per-hour head on impact. The kid's mother is still trapped in the car and is being extricated by the fire-crew. Oh and the rest of the trauma team is away at the Paediatric Trauma Study Day - aren't you supposed to be there too?
