New job positions are also highlighted on the Trauma.Org front page (seen by 40,000 users per month) and posted to the 2700-strong membership of the trauma-list discussion group. This service is free to hospitals and non-profit institutions, but we ask for a minimum donation of £100 ($190) to Trauma.Org if advertisements are placed through recruitment consultancies. Trauma & Critical Care Surgeon, St Luke’s, Mo.

Kansas City, Missouri

Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, Missouri is accepting applications for an Acute Care or Trauma Surgeon to join the Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Specialists group. The successful applicant will be encouraged to participate in the clinical areas of trauma, surgical critical care and emergency general surgery. Opportunities may be available for a limited elective general surgery practice.

Saint Luke’s Hospital is a major teaching affiliate hospital for the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine. Opportunities exist for a clinical academic appointment within the Department of Surgery. There will also be responsibility for teaching general surgery residents at this State designated Level I trauma center as well as instruction of medical students on their surgery and ICU rotations. Involvement in clinical research is encouraged and preferred. The candidate must be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and be certified/eligible for added Qualifications in Surgical Critical Care. This position requires the applicant to obtain a Missouri medical license.

Mass General Trauma Surgeon and Chief of Central Maine Healthcare, Trauma and Acute Care Surgery

Boston, MA

The Massachusetts General Hospital’s Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care (TESSCC) closely collaborates with Central Maine Healthcare. Together they are searching for a Director of the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Program at Central Maine Healthcare (CMH) in Lewiston, ME, with a joint appointment at the Massachusetts General Hospital and an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. Reporting to the Chief of Mass General’s Division of TESSCC, the successful candidate will be responsible for clinical care, administrative services and teaching at CMH, as they relate to Acute Care Surgery. The candidate will also have additional responsibilities to be provided at the Massachusetts General Hospital. The academic appointment will be commensurate with experience and credentials.

Applicants must be a fellowship-trained Acute Care Surgeon with board-certification in General Surgery and added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care and strong surgical leadership skills.

The MGH is a 1,000-bed facility in Boston, MA and an ACS-verified Level I Adult Trauma Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level I Certified Burn Center. Central Maine Healthcare has three accredited Trauma Centers in Maine with their premiere hospital located in Lewiston, ME. This hospital operates the busiest Emergency Department in central Maine, annually serving approximately 50,000 patients and 800 trauma patients.
