Description

Jackson Memorial Hospital is the major teaching hospital for the University of Miami Department of Radiology, which also provides clinical services at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics, the University of Miami Magnetic Resonance Imaging Center, and Columbia Cedars and South Shore Hospitals. The department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art technology . Over 300,000 examinations are performed each year. 

Fellowship Program

Clinical Responsibilities

The fellow will develop skills to deal with the imaging assessment of the acutely ill and injured patient. The fellow will learn to guide the clinician in proper selection of diagnostic imaging studies with a sense of cost effectiveness and expediency. He/she will become familiar with the value and limitation of the different diagnostic modalities applicable to the emergency patient: conventional radiology, ultrasonography, computed tomography and angiography.

The fellow must understand the structural alterations and physiologic imbalance resulting from trauma to the various organ systems as well as the mechanisms and patterns of injury. He/she will directly conduct and supervise the application of the imaging protocols tailored to the target organs or systems. In addition, the fellow will develop the skills in conducting additional radiologic examinations and establishing the necessary intradepartmental consultations.

$40k plus, depending on qualifications
