Description
Based at the only Level I facility on the west coast of Florida, Tampa General Hospital receives approximately 150 trauma admissions per month, with 85% having associated musculoskeletal injuries. The Orthopaedic Trauma Service consists of four full time fellowship trained traumatologists as well as a trauma registrar. A large referral base from all of Florida permits us to treat a high volume of calcaneal, acetabular, pelvic and comminuted articular fractures. Using indirect reduction, multiplanar osteotomies and Ilizarov techniques, post traumatic reconstruction including fusions, malunion, nonunions and osteomyelitis surgery are performed.

Clinical Responsibilities
This Orthopaedic Trauma Association approved fellowship emphasizes the surgical and clinical management of the orthopaedic trauma patient, as well as actively involving the Fellow in academic and clinical research projects.
