1000 bed hospital with 28,000 trauma admissions per year (60% blunt, 40% penetrating). Over 4000 orthopaedic trauma procedures per year.
Fellowship Program
Clinical Responsibilities
Instruction at the institutions will offer the Orthopaedic Trauma Fellow advanced training in the management of orthopaedic trauma, especially severe multiple trauma. The fellow will work with faculty and residents at busy clinics and OR activities, gaining expertise in many areas of trauma such a AO internal fixation, external fixation, functional fracture bracing, and closed intramedullary nailing techniques.
Research Opportunities
The fellow will have access to a fully equipped Biomechanics Lab. The fellow will be expected to engage in clinical and/or basic science research and will be responsible for a thesis at the end of the fellowship.
