The Unit
Description
The University of Kentucky is a Level I trauma center located in the heart of the “Bluegrass” portion of Kentucky. We have approximately 3600 trauma admissions/year, and orthopaedics consults on about 75% of these. The majority of patients have sustained blunt force trauma, and thus we see a large number of peri-articular fractures as well as pelvis and acetabulum fractures.
