Fellowship Rotates through Ben Taub General Hospital ,Texas Children’s Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital.

Fellowship Program

Clinical Responsibilities

Instruction at the institutions will offer the orthopaedic trauma fellow advance training in the management of orthopaedic trauma including the surgical stabilization of complex fractures and the initial evaluation and care of multiple trauma patients. Upon completion, the fellow will have developed expertise in fractures of the upper and lower extremity, spine, pelvis, and acetabulum. Emphasis is placed on becoming proficient with advanced techniques for the fixation of trauma injuries. In addition, a thorough review and in-depth appreciation of orthopaedic literature will be adhered to. The fellow will work with the Chief of Baylor College School of Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery Trauma Section, in the management of the Ben Taub General Hospital Orthopaedic Trauma Service.

Research Opportunities

The fellow will engage in clinical and/or basic science research and be responsible for a thesis at the end of the fellowship. Facilities for animal research, computer database services, and audio/visual services will be available.

Teaching Responsibilities

The fellow will serve as a Junior Faculty member in providing resident training and supervision.

Salary

$35,000
