The Unit

Description

The only Level 1 Trauma and Burns center in New Mexico, the trauma service admits 1500-1800 acute trauma cases each year as well as approximately 250 burn patients. The service is staffed by 3 attending trama surgeons, a certified nutrition support dietician, two database specialists as well as a number of residents and medical students. Lifeguard Air Ambulance is based at the hospital for tertiary referrals.

Research Opportunities

Clinical and basic science strongly encouraged. Strong commitment to clinical research and participation in on-going studies or initiation of new projects is encouraged.

Teaching Responsibilities

Instruction of residents and medical students.

Salary

$30,000
