The Evans-Haynes Burn Unit of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System, Richmond, VA is accepting applications for a non-ACGME approved one year burn fellowship beginning July 1, 2013. Candidates should have at least two years of training in General or Plastic Surgery and interest in the care of thermal injury and complex wounds. This position allows experience in critical care, management of acute burns as well as burn reconstruction for both adults and children. Research is encouraged. The burn unit is housed in a brand new, state-of-the art critical care facility which contains 16 beds and admits over 300 new inpatients and 1200 outpatients annually. This facility is currently the only verified burn center in Virginia and is affiliated with a Level I trauma center. The fellow will participate in the educational activities of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Department of Surgery/Trauma/Critical Care. VCUHS is an equal opportunity employer.
