At the recent congress in Graz May 23-26, the first joint congress organised in collaboration between ETS (European Trauma Society) and EATES (European Association for Trauma and Emrgency Surgery), became a historical landmark for European Trauma- and Emergency Surgery: During this congress, the decision was made to merge these two societies into one and the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES) was founded on May 25, 2007.
