A wound caused by a knife to the abdominal wall causing evisceration. This was corrected via laparotomy and primary repair of intestinal injury. The patient made a good recovery and was discharged after a few days.

I must say this is a pretty impressive amount of intestinal protrusion for such a small injury. I imagine the risk of sepsis was a factor as the small intestine appears to be severed.
