This patient has sustained a gunshot wound in the LUQ. Transfered imediately to the OR, a xiphopuibic laparotomy with extention to the RUQ was done. He had a blasted liver (Grade V lesion) as the only intrabdominal lesion. No other visceral injuries! The patient died on table from exanguination.

Thanks! I just verified that this lesion was not repairable. I think there is no control for such damage.

I am quite sure the IVC was also severely damaged as well.

Sorry. By mistake I wrote “gunshot”.It was nor a gunshot but a shotgun 12 gauge, usually used in Portugal for hunting. Thanks for your interest.
