A young male patient post damage control liver resection following a gunshot wound. Effectively applied, this low cost open abdominal dressing makes nursing the patient easier, it comprises five large swabs, one large transparent adhesive and one 'surgi-vac' suction drain. It was originally described by P Barker et al from Ngelazane hospital, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa
