To all who knew Erwin Thal, my condolences - I only knew him by distance as the past secretary-treasurer of IATSIC, but the few dealings I had with him showed me a man of talent and sincerity.
My thoughts are with his family.

Dr Erwin Thal came to Israel along with Drs Collicott, Romanovsky, Trunkey and Irvene Hughes Collicott RN in the late 1990s and instructed the first group of ATLS instructors in the country. A great and wonderful man, his impact and contribution will continue to be felt all over Israel and throughout the generations. Our deepest condolences to his family, colleagues and the whole surgery and trauma community.

We have lost another giant from our ranks: Erwin Thal has passed away. He was a remarkable man with boundless energy and a perpetual smile. He has left a legacy of hundreds of trauma surgeons and a COT that has been shaped, in part, by his wisdom and dedication to the care of the injured.

God Bless Dr. Thal and all he loved and who loved him - his family and extended family will miss him dearly.
