As far as I am concerned an assault rifle (weapon) is a weapon made made for no
purpose except close up combat- fires multiple rounds with one trigger pull,
fires a round that is made ( despite The Hague convention) for maximum damage
etc etc. and by the way I am quite familiar with the various types of
ammunition, the writer is quite right when he states that tha AK 47 fires a
round similar in mass and load to the 30 06 and the weatherby fires a 223 round
only slightly larger than a 22 target rifle (but remarkably similar to that
fired by the M-16 ). I think Doc Holiday has just given this list an accurate
definition.

I recently took care of a weatherby wound, very similar to those I saw coming
from the Iraq war.

The point is not how similar these weapons are to legit hunting weapons but how
they are designed to be used

I think it is high time the medical profession stood up to the far and spoke out
for responsible gun laws and ownership. They see to manage this in Europe
