NY Times: Doctors' changing economics & politics

Today's NY Times has this article about economic and political shifts among U.S.
doctors:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/30/health/policy/30docs.html?hp=&pagewanted=all
The article suggests two trends that may be behind the shift: more doctors
opting to be employees rather than run their own practices, and more female
doctors. The net effect seems to be a shift in political leanings toward more
liberal attitudes and more advocacy for patient interests. At least in Maine.
