Sorry Ron This question is now before the ethic committees of several "Colleges". We are being asked to do procedures on patients who are "dead/dying" just to keep the organs alive In the practices trauma surgeons do daily is to resuscitate GSWs to the head with GCSs < 5. All of these are organ donors. At the last AAST after one of the papers there was a show of hands of many who had resuscitated "dead" who were successful donors This needs to be an end point on ER resuscitation as well >>>> discussions regarding this. > - Surely you just - we are NOT responsible for saving organs. We are responsible for saving LIVES - and here there was no LIFE to save, just a corpse who probably had many destroyed organs due either to the initial trauma or to the hypoxia that was in existence well before the arrival of Jenny and her crew.
