This question is now before the ethic committees of several "Colleges". We are being asked to do procedures on patients who are "dead/dying" just to keep the organs alive

In the practices trauma surgeons do daily is to resuscitate GSWs to the head with GCSs < 5.  All of these are organ donors.

At the last AAST after one of the papers there was a show of hands of many who had resuscitated  "dead" who were successful donors 

This needs to be an end point on ER resuscitation as well
