--> It is possible that we're thinking like CLINICIANS. Perhaps they do not plan to use this new piece of info for medical reasons. I am sure even THEIR experts can tell them that knowledge of one's blood ABO-grouping does not cut any steps off any process. Perhaps this is to be used in the same way as hair colour and height, as an identifier, to prevent fraud. Maybe they plan to test saliva from drivers they stop to see if they match blood group... I am guessing, but the reason I am heading in the non-clinical direction is that there have been many changes to many things recently for "security" reasons...
