For  those of who that knew David, you already realize what a devastating 
loss this  is to all of us in the world of trauma and for the United States 
Army.   For those of you who did not know David Burris, MD, FACS, he was an 
incredibly  kind and gentle man who dedicated his life to his wife Wilma, his 
children and  to the men and women of the U.S. Army.  He served all of them 
with zest  and vigor, but above all, he served the Lord with undying love 
and  faith.  I suspect he will receive the same as he moves on to a more  
peaceful and serene world.
