Dear sal I have a question. Can the bullet shot in the atrium (or heart) be removed by baloon catheter technique? I think bullet in the deep part of the human body must be needed to remove surgi cally. Please tell me, if you will, the popular approach for GSW in the deep portion. >From the country of little GSW. >An inferior vena cavogram and right atriogram showed the bullet in the >right a trium. Multiple negative echocardiograms had been normal. The >bullet was remove d from the right atrium with a 27 mm balloon catheter >used like an embolectomy catheter. The bullet was then dragged down >into the pelvis where it promptly fe ll into the right internal iliac >vein . By deploying a stent in the common/exte rnal iliac vein, the >bullet was caged in the internal iliac vein where it will remain.
