Backup Call Pay

Ken in our system, there are varying levels of "on call" pay.....I cannot comment on exact figures but the Trauma surgeons are the least paid and are the busiest...go figure. The Neurosurgeons cover the entire area (all the private hospitals) and for some reason get paid the most for doing the least amount of work....Cardiothoracic/Vascular is between these two. This system uses a flat rate for a 24 hr period. Call pay gets evaluated and "valued" on a periodic basis...some other systems I know are basing call pay on the RVU system....not sure which is the best or most appropriate. Hope you are well

Some discussions are occurring regarding payment to surgery specialist who
are "on call" I would ask anyone who might wish to share with this list
server what the policy is in your local. It does not need to be for your
hospital or yourself. I would ask for three different figures, if you
can give it that way.
