Excess Radiation from CT of concern at LA Hospital

This starts with 'bull' and ends with a 't'; and you know it, and you're
perpetuating it anyway.

How depressing that political debate tactics have infected the list: say it
often enough, and dramatically enough, and it becomes the truth. This is
the means by which you can fool some of the people all of the time.

If anyone actually READS the Cedars report, they'll discover that the errors
in play were isolated to the calibration of the scanner and the safety
habits of the technologist. There is nothing at all to implicate the
indications for the exam or the decisions of any trauma surgeon.

Again, and emphatically, and as always: I AGREE that clinicians order too
many tests of all kinds. But twisting this story to synchronize it with
one's agenda, however rational the agenda may be, is frankly sleazy and lazy
and beneath what I've come to expect from one of the finest trauma surgeons
in the history of mankind.

Nope, it is not they that order the tests. The doctors that
indiscriminately order CTs and IR are liable, especially if they do not
even LOOK at
the images they order.

And I
expect that your radiology department is probably able and eager to
formulate its response without any help from the trauma service.
