I am aware that in itself it is not very useful. I am aware that, as a part of a system with blocks & tapes, it probably adds the least, but it DOES add to stability. There are other options, but the collar is accepted as standard. I think it will require evidence of HARM to patients, rather than a rise in ICP (unless it is shown to lead to poor outcome), to change this. I have seen that article about the ICP rise a few years back.
