Disappointed

Gross, Ronald Ronald.Gross at baystatehealth.org

Ken,
The very fact that one of our own pre-hospital providers thought that the only benefit of an ACS VRC visit and trauma center verification was "bragging rights" tend to make me believe that we still have a very long way to go...........

Subject: Disappointed

I had thought that our trauma systems in this country were becoming quite
mature. Actually, as an collaborative integrated network, the ACS
verified trauma centers (OF ALL LEVELS) of this country are among the best
examples of system wide collaboration, for trauma, acute care surgery, disaster
response, and surgical critical care.

I had thought that I had some rudimentary knowledge of the demonstrated
commitment to the care of the wounded warrior and to the injured and critical
care needs in the civilian world. However, with what I have read in the
past 24 hours on this web site, I have read information, that if true,
tremendously disappoints me.

1. The surgeons on this list should have known better and have shown
commitment along with their hospitals

2. Disappoinntment from the fact that our hospitals are not more honest
and mature in trauma care

3. Disappointed in that our local and national politicians who talk
about quality care do not see the forest for the trees.
