We encourage them to audit.  Sometimes we ask them to volunteer as moulage victims for the testing.  I makes up for the great learning opportunity and the hot chow.

The course is intended for licensed clinicians, so it's of little direct use to students.  And since they're medical students, the CME wouldn't apply.  At least this way they can take a bona fide seat after graduation and really impress the other attendees...

  Here in Brazil, medical students can make the ATLS. But only in the last
semester.
