Hi Fred ATLS South Africa has a video on DVD that it uses prior to the animal session on our courses (we still use the animal lab as we cannot afford the cost of the manikins). It shows chest tube, needle and surgical crico, cut down, and DPL performed on a fresh cadaver, and CVP insertion on a live patient in a resus bay. These were all done with the required permissions from the relevant Ethics boards. You may be able to get a copy from atls at saol.com - the contact person is Di Baker, the National Coordinator for ATLS. Hope this helps Tim Dr T C Hardcastle M.B., Ch.B. (Stell); M. Med.
