Today in History

Gross, Ronald Ronald.Gross at baystatehealth.org
Mon Jul 20 20:03:46 BST 2009

I was 19 years old and thumbing my way through Europe. My buddy and I were sitting in a bar in the beautiful walled city of Dubrovnick, in a beautiful country once known as Yugoslavia. On a black and white TV with many lines running across the picture, we watched in awe as the 1st steps on the moon were taken by an American astronaut - and we were then hoisted on the shoulders of many "communist villains" as we all celebrated a magnificent triumph of MANKIND! That evening there were no borders - and we were all just men!
Oh if it could be like that every day...........
Ron

Do you remember what you were doing 40 years ago today? It is one of
those very vivid days in my memory. I am sure that is the same for most
of you
