AIMS & ETHOS

The aims and ethos of the conference are to provide a truly international
consensus on trauma and critical care.

The consensus will account for the differences in trauma care around the
world.

Given that International Trauma Conferences is an international charity, the
conference programme has been compiled to describe and educate on the
various different methods of treating trauma and critical care patients
delivered globally across many continents. Over the past year alone, there
has been much debate over the treatments given to patients. Therefore the
conference has a number of key hot topic debates to address the different
opinions (both positive and negative) on the various treatment options given
to patients daily across the world.

The intention is to provide those attending the conference with a clearer
understanding of the evidence and to enable a consensus to be reached – in
order to improve the healthcare delivered to trauma patients.

As a registered charity, International Trauma Conferences is a
not-for-profit organisation.

All income that the charity receives (including the International Trauma

benefit of educating clinicians involved in the care and management of
trauma and critical care patients. Therefore the conference programme
committee has worked tirelessly to ensure that the costs for delegates are
kept to an absolute minimum. In this respect we are delighted to announce
that the conference fee for the International Trauma Conference 2009 is
minimal.

Furthermore, it has been decided to donate a proportion of the income
received from this year’s event to Trauma.org. This sum will be donated to
Trauma.org in order to assist Professor Brohi in meeting the running costs
