Militants *are* legitimate targets. Just because they shelter in the middle of civilians doesn't change that. I'm not saying I'm not saddened by the loss of lives of people who might not have anything to do with the predicament. That said, I understand the nature of war and as much as we would like to sanitize it that is asking for the impossible. Even in this day of "surgical strikes" (which are often more like Napoleonic era amputations than the brain surgery analogy a lot of people cling to) you are still looking at a very paltry number of civilian casualties compared to what would happen if truly unrestricted warfare was implemented (think Dresden or Tokyo *circa *1945). BTW, don't trust everything you read in the news. Most likely the truth is somewhere in the middle between what the media says the Israelis are doing "horribly wrong" and what the Israelis and others say the Palestinians are doing wrong. Both sides hold near equal responsibility for the bloodshed regardless of whom may have been directly responsible for the individual deaths.
