The electoral college has its arguments both ways.

And as for my comment to Jane, I think it was a proportional response.

But as none of this has anything to do trauma or critical care medicine,
I'll refrain from further comment.

Very true, but I think the fairest system of all would simply to be take a
"majority rule" approach so that it is clear who the winner is and who the
losers are.  This would not be much of a problem at all given all the
current ability to report districts quickly.  That is all I am concerned
with, regardless of whether my side wins or loses just so long as it happens
fairly.

BTW, let's keep the "further evidence" comments to a minimum....no need to
pick people apart simply because you and I may or may not disagree with
them.
