From: Bradley Morris (bradleypmorris at gmail.com)
> I would be interested to hear from those on the ground... how democratic the Indian democracy actually is

--> I'd have to say, on the scale of 1-10, it's are around "warm"...Or, in other words, about as democratic as a piece of string is long...

From: Mary Lumpkin (docmarance at yahoo.com) > what does any of this have to do with trauma or critical care?

From: Marc Matthews - MedPro MMC X (Marc_Matthews at medprodoctors.com) > Agreed.

--> Well, aren't we all chummy?People now agree with each other's questions!

From: Gross, Ronald (Ronald.Gross at bhs.org) > I am glad to see that I am not the only one who tends to bring politics and personal "opinion" onto this august site

--> I'll join you on that.Although this is a list for people who have an interest in trauma, I think it is fair to use it to explore how "trauma people" view things outside trauma. With limits, of course. I think it also promotes friendly communications.

Still, sometimes our international nature seems to bring on "competitions"... Quite fun to watch!
Like the current one on who's the BIGGEST democracy, now also HOW MUCH democracy is democracy or even WHAT is democracy...

As for India, at the origin of this thread, I am not "on the ground", but have met many physicians who come from India to the UK and have read a bit about it. I am not expert enough to assess how democratic it is even if there did exist a scale by which this could be measured, which I don't expect soon. However, on democratic issues, as on so many countless other things, especially in the medical realm, I have found myself very impressed with how that country keeps moving forward!
