I saw only one painted lady yesterday. More than 1 1/2 million people on the streets for 4 days each. Total 6 million and another 4 million spread out of the other ten days. That is 10 million people and no parade related deaths. Not bad for a fun time. Demonstrated a VERY good police force and a good EMS system. That was only in Orleans parish. It does not count the surrounding areas which had their own celebrations.
