C-SPINE CLEARANCE - surprise

Or at least provides little benefit.

The hospital I work for has a hospital affiliated EMS service. They have a
well written c-spine clearance protocol. It is rarely used. Almost any
patient with even the most minor of fender-benders gets brought in in full
spinal immobilization.

One of my first questions is "Did you have neck or back pain BEFORE they
strapped you down to this hard board?
