Late today I learned that some persons (not the trauma network, nor those nurses and doctors who have been working hard the last 36 hours) have arranged for a DMAT "Military" hospital to be brought to Houston and set up independent of any existing hospital and taking care of minor, primary care, and non critical trauma patients. I have no idea how the efforts and record keeping of these outside persons, invited for political or preconceived untested concepts of those physicians working directly in the emergency rooms that these outside military hospitals are being brought in to "protect. I obviously did not make my concern as to "What is the problem for which this outside group is the solution?" forceful enough. I wonder if this would have been attempted in a non-election year? So.....as best I can, I will try to scientifically assess the impact, and outcome of this outside group. I would be interested to learn from others with experience on this list. Have I protested too loudly and just what experiences have others had during other disasters with these many different named outside groups? k **************Psssst...Have you heard the news?
