I think you are absolutely correct in your assessment.  John Fildes, the
past 
chair of the NTDB has had discussions with Dr. Sacco regarding the data and 
(hopefully) advancing the knowledge base contained within.  Unfortunately, 
from my understanding, the NTDB did not uniformly record heart rates making
a 
physiological analysis more than difficult.  That has been changed in a
recent 
update.  I too would like to see the methodology to have a better 
understanding of what data was mined and what methodology was applied.
