Little is left of a medical helicopter that crashed Wednesday night in Aurora, Illinois, killing four people. The helicopter was on its way from Valley West Community Hospital in the town of Sandwich to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago when it went down in a field, said FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Isham Cory. An Aurora fire official at the scene told reporters the Bell-222 helicopter may have clipped a guy wire attached to a radio station tower. "There is debris scattered 75 to 100 feet. There really is no aircraft left per se," Assistant Fire Chief John Lane said. Police evacuated 16 apartment buildings in the area as a precaution as crews assessed the 750-foot-tall tower's stability. The helicopter was operated by Air Angels Inc., an emergency medical transport service based at Clow Airport in Bolingbrook, Illinois, officials said. It was carrying a two-member crew, a nurse and a patient, they said. The patient was a 13-month-old girl, The Associated Press reported.
