Ken This a major problem and now is the time to address this problem. It would be great if you could change some things for the LV trauma meeting to discuss this problem with meaningful outcome Norman Typed by the thumbs of Norman on his BlackBerry Norman McSwain, MD Tulane Univ Surgery 504 988-5111 ----- Original Message ----- From: trauma-list-bounces at trauma.org <trauma-list-bounces at trauma.org> To: Trauma &, Critical Care mailing list <trauma-list at trauma.org> Sent: Mon Oct 13 09:30:16 2008 Subject: Re: the panel Very much so. In years past, I dated a girl from Stavanger, Norway whose uncle flew helicopters for one of the services in southern Norway (the name escapes me). Over drinks one night, we got on the subject of how "flaky" the oversight of helicopter operations in the US happens to be for medical flights. If a meeting becomes likely, I would encourage those organizing it to include the input of international services with outstanding safety records and approaches to keeping it that way.
