According to reports, three hospitals were attacked in Mumbai, those close to hotels; with intention to disrupt the health services. Hospitals were also targeted in Jaipur, Rajsthan few months ago. Most government hospitals are not well protected and usually relatives of patients attack hospital residents whenever there is a death in the hospital or they feel that care is not adequate. Hospital security guards carry a nightstick. There are no armed guards anywhere on the premises. As pointed out, in the event of a serious attack on the hospital, most workers might flee.
