From: Dan & Emily Ele (un2god at earthlink.net) > nice that you are so concerned about the fires in CA --> Yup... I'm a nice guy. > take time to write just anyone --> Time is what I often have on my hands, due to the pattern of my work schedules... > ...disgruntled homeowners and the unemployed here in CA might have reason to start and or burn areas of successful Californians --> You're right.I did omit that... Also a few other things I have thought of since... But I am not that familiar with the factors in CA, so I was sure others would bring those out. The point is that there were likely to be MANY other factors to consider - not only "being prepared"... > The ones to survive the financial holocost here are more likely to be in medical fields --> It is not unusual for those whose occupations are based on dealing with others' "negatives"... Undertakers benefit from epidemics, physicians make a living from disease. Private security firms can make no profit in "safe areas"... etc... Some OTHER career choices are able to benefit as well no matter which way their "business" goes, e.g. politicians, religious leaders, lawyers and others who are able to plant a foot on BOTH sides of each issue. > ...on any given day you can count on seeing an abandoned home to bank repossession --> And these are also probably more of a fire risk than occupied homes, I guess...? From: Steven P. Rogers, RN (rogers3 at socal.rr.com) > We lost many out buildings on our beautiful campus... --> Sorry to hear of this.Best of luck for the reconstruction - may your "phoenix" be a good one, as it rises from the ashes! > I know this is not the place to say this, but I would like to say thank you to the LA Fire Department --> I don't think you'll receive complaints for "abusing" this list to say something nice!I add my gratitude to yours! _________________________________________________________________ Win £1000 John Lewis shopping sprees with BigSnapSearch.com http://clk.atdmt.com/UKM/go/117442309/direct/01/
