Bob: My highest congratulations for those professional organizations who have openly addressed the problems, real and perceived, and have stepped forward with the leadership to voice opinions. I see a coalition consensus group forming. Does the Maryland Panel know or communicated with those groups that are developing this consensus statement? I have also heard that the Feds are coming up with their own standards and recommendations which might be much more rigid than those being discussed by the clinical and EMS groups. You might also suggest to your OB/Gyn, Cardiology, Critical Care, Orthopedic, and Pediatric Colleagues that they might like to enjoin with the EMS, Trauma, and Flight organizaitons in their efforts and consensus standards and recommendations. k mattox In a message dated 11/6/2008 7:19:11 P.M. Another point that needs to be brought forth is that helicopters also transport non-trauma patients and advocates for these patients' care such as Internal Medicine/Critical Care/OB-GYN/Pulmonology/Cardiology/Orthopedic/and other specialist and sub-specialist and/or their association(s) need to be appropriately represented at the local, state, regional, and national levels.
