Lorick, The 2 lines probably mean that the child is in the next 2 percentile. This is a statistical reference in Peads and usually means that the child is bigger in size compared to similar aged kids. Don't sweat it my friend. If there was any issue the pediatrician would have sounded the alarm and the necessary VOMIT procedures ;-) God Bless. My pediatrician told me the same thing about my son- repeatedly, and with concern. I was not a member of the medical community at the time and searched all available resources as the Dr would not be specific. There are indeed conditions to be concerned about which present in infants with a large head, however- Upon examination of my son's reports from his visits with the pediatrician I noticed that his weight and leingh were also near the top of if not exceeding the growth charts. He also consumed more formula (his hunger quickly exceeded the amount of breast milk I could provide) than suggested . Today, 22 years later, my son is 6'5" and has grown nicely into his large head. Whilst I realise this forum is mainly for trauma inquries, I wonder if anybody can hep me with the following problem. My sister in law has just approached me with my young Nephew and has told me she is concerned with the size of his head. Her GP has said it is "two lines" bigger than it should be. He did not elaborate on what that meant and did not schedule a follow up appointment. Does anyone know of any peadiatric conditions relating to an abornormally large head? No websites have shed any light on the situation and my textbooks have not helped. My Nephew Shaun is eighteen months old and has had no previous medical conditions. Grateful for any suggestions! _________________________________________________________________ Win Indiana Jones prizes with Live Search http://clk.atdmt.com/UKM/go/msnnkmgl0010000002ukm/direct/01/<http://clk.atdm t.com/UKM/go/msnnkmgl0010000002ukm/direct/01/>-- trauma-list : TRAUMA.ORG To change your settings or unsubscribe visit: http://www.trauma.org/index.php?/community/<http://www.trauma.org/index.php? /community/> -- trauma-list : TRAUMA.ORG To change your settings or unsubscribe visit: http://www.trauma.org/index.php?/community/
