This is Mothers Day and at least 3 mothers are very very sad because of the untimely loss of a physician, a flight nurse, and a pilot. Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with the families, associates, and friends of not only these three, but the extended health care families of not only Wisconsin, but the entire country and the world. Where ever one practices, such news causes a terrible feeling of remorse and loss. May God grant strength during this time of maximum loss. Kenneth L. Mattox, MD Houston In a message dated 5/11/2008 12:23:08 P.M. Central Standard Time, tnelsonmd at pol.net writes: To the Trauma, EMS, and Flight Medicine Communities, I am sure by now that you have heard of the crash of one of our aircraft. I suppose it goes without saying, but I humbly request the thoughts and prayers to the crew (Dr. Darren Bean--UW Emergency Physician, Mark Coyne--UW Med Flight nurse, and Steve Lipperer--Air Methods Pilot) and their families. These were (are) great Emergency Medicine and EMS providers (not to mention friends, husbands, fathers). Thank you in advance of your prayers for their survivors.
