yes, i saw and read that article, when it was sent out on trauma-list. but 
the text is equivocal in my view -   if i read it correctly, the delayed 
fluid resuscitation is only recommended for penetrating trauma.

even being only a lurker, i very well remember the discussions about 
permissive hypotension on this list some five years ago, with Barry 
Armstrong being quite outspoken about this ...... 

it is just so that our young colleagues come back from their ATLS course 
and start the 2 l iters of crystalloid on all and sunder (i exaggerate a 
little), and i have a hard time turning down the flow rates. if i do not 
look for some minutes, somebody always opens the drip again ......
