The fast answer is no. A proper abdominal CT with GI contrast is low-yield, high-delay, and invites projectile spewing. The more deliberate response acknowledges that radiologists want the best pictures they can get. But this is the Trauma-List, so screw the Shadow Merchants. Just kidding. Some of my favorite doctors are radiologists. References abound: go to PubMed and search [trauma AND "oral contrast"].
