Question for my colleagues and friends. We abdandoned Operating Room Resuscitations (OR Resus) because we found it to be an unecessary waste of valuable OR time and personnel resources. Like many centers, we have the OR crew respond to the resusciation room and perform thoracotomy, rarely laparotomy with packing, and even more rarely, stat C-section. What are your thoughts on OR resus vs. trauma resusciatiton room for unstable patients? If you use OR resus, what are your criteria and your observations on practicality and efficiency?
