I'm sorry for not being clearer.  The neck wound as a slash wound from the
right SCM to just to the patient's left of the mid-line.  The strap muscles
and thyroid cartilage were exposed.

What were the indications for neck exploration? i would argue you have a
stable pt who you felt comfortable enough to take to CT... then why not
continue with a non-op algorithm?
 
As for the chest, i believe you stated the CT showed a pericardial
collection..small but still present. I would therefore have done a window at
presentation.
