My wife broke her leg in Germany on  a high school student exchange
program — the German ED required $75 (equivalent) cash before they
touched her because she wasn't a German national. Only in America would
people get exercised over the failure to spend millions of taxpayer
dollars on non-citizens.

Wow. That was a story. I sleep well at night knowing that every time I
get my passport stamped that the host country will spend a half of
million dollars if I befall an accident before sending me home. Sorry.
